Crossing the bridge from Langeland to the island of Fyn. No trip to Copenhagen is complete without a photo of the mermaid, well going by the quantity of tourists there. Christiaanas version of the Statue of Liberty. Britta with Rosemary (in red) and Brittas' friend on the right, during tour of Chistiaana

Now off to the current naval base seeing the hippies grabbed the old one (as above). Hey its the girls. Rosemary was staying at Britta's B&B also, what a gem, she lives in France but is English, really. Nyhavn is where its at in the restaurant department of Copenhagen, very swish.

Mary, trying to look fashionable in her only dress whilst on tour, posing next to a museum gem of a statue. The fountains in the middle of the royal palace, and one of the many squares, and the twisted tower above the stock exchange, very appropriate and all in Copenhagen.

Man alive, there are copious quantities of massive ferries all over Scandinavia, many offering so called tax free products on board, all still over twice the price of the USA at least. Sailing ship and original Danish cottage by the railway station and then up north of Zealand where we stayed in this summer house by ourselves, for a few days.

Time to leave Denmark so shots from the ferry looking back at Helsingor with the castles and many cannons aiming at Sweden, their old and traditional arch enemy.

Ah, there's a windmill in Sweden, good place to camp so we did. Recycling! Brilliant! Why can't the rest of the world have these machines where you pay more for the can, bottle etc but get plenty back when one returns it. Oh Mary your in the way of that funny spiked castle in the middle of nowhere.

We thought for a minute this was Ireland, what with the old stone walls, but Sweden goes back just as far and we noticed many kms of stoned walls in amongst the endless forests. Typical farm house and barn on lonely long stretches of not so hot roads. Is this a Swedish cow? I pity the person who has to milk it. Mary again just before entering a more dense patch of forest (which she doesn't particularly like) especially when its dark and Rob has gone on ahead.

Yakking with Yan by a lake in Sweden. A lonely sinking lake boat and Mary taking time out by a lake, then more forests and small roads.

The ferry would have to stop 60kms short of Stockholm wouldn't it!

We've been searching for Moose all through Sweden and here we go again in Finland. Yow! the mossy's are biting Robs leg but no lumps unlike Mary. A cabin by the lake, complete with sauna and free to us, thanks to Thomas and his family near Savo. Wow! those lakes and forests.

An original Finnish energy drink (not bad) about as useless as a battery as Duracell is. Time to have another go at getting some washing dry as we camped by a river in Jamsa. My god! do we have to climb up there? Matti & Maria's huge converted water tower. Good thing Matti is a civil engineer. Here he is describing his plans for the ski fields on Tahko Mountain (already a successful ski resort)

The beautiful Maria! Their lounge on the second level of the water tower and one of many views from their 57 windows. Probably the most dramatic building in Helsinki....
