Photos of the Fantastic Morocco
Agadir Beach looking south and those men in cloaks (Jalabas) The trip out west with Barbara and Tom
Mary's Chameleon at Mohammeds' cousin's shop and the collapsed bridge on the way to Mohammed's, Lovely streets in Essaoiura our house in amongst it!
Souk in Essaoiura, Mohammeds' family residence in the mountains and Mary asking "is that really a goat"? Mohammed is the western looking gent.
Rob is the balding Arab looking bloke. Elisha with a goat (at 16 she doesn't read or write and spends her day looking after goats) and family. Mary & Elisha both in traditional Berber garb.
On the way to Safi where we cycled through an attempt of Morocco to be industrial but with raw chemical waste being shown dumped from pipes straight into the sea. Safi was a typical Moroccan city with souks and traders selling all sorts of cheap non known Korean and Taiwanese branded crappy electronics and other cras toys and things, but the fruit was great! Beer and Hotels were cheap but basic and we soon became used to it all. Why does everyone dump their rubbish where ever it suits them? Is it something to do with the fact that in the whole time we were in Morocco there were only two public rubbish bins spotted. What would be a paradise is turned into a continuous rubbish dump. Black rubbish bags are everywhere around the countryside it is unbelievable. I don't think the King cares as long as his palace is perfect which it is. Ironic that within five minutes from it we saw the worst slums and beach front of anywhere we have been and that place was called Sale' on the other side of Rabat's main river (sorry, only river)
Then WOW Mary is an avid cyclist again! What about Rob though, high on the hill with legs! Oh God another muddy village to wade through! Rob loves technology! Camels & satellite dishes all on the family farm.
Mary! God I hate this! Not another long road to nowhere, why can't we pedal around a souk like these blokes? Roadside pottery is fantastic and appears all over.
No trip to Morocco is complete without the Loo! Our mates in Rabat (Hammed & Ahmed) & Oh how high was that mountain city "Chefcouin" to name but one (only 1600m up)
