Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre.

Installed in this facility is a series of water proof loudspeakers that can be lowered over the pools. These speakers are used predominately for music replay.
The central cluster is used for paging and evacuation siren.

The above photo was taken as the pool was being filled after maintenance The use of Pioneer Waterproof speakers installed into 9 inch sections of a Marley downpipe was inovative such that it was ideal to deal with the Chlorine and moisture that prevailed within the complex (simple but effective). The use of a winch enabled the lowering of sections of speakers to within areas that required sound, e.g. Aerobic classes.

The photo to the right shows the modular amplifiers and control system used to drive the suspended speakers. Buzz Audio (a company Robert worked with closely) designed and built the "M.A.C.S." rack - Mobile Audio Control System - a mobile rack containing an 8 ch mixer, CD, cassette player and several AKG wireless mics. The output from this rack is transmitted and can be received at various points within the complex and routed into the various speaker systems. This system is used for events at the Aquatic Centre.
