Serengeti National Park - March 99
This is not a story about humans you know, says Rob. Excuse me, it is when talking of the Masai peoples whom we met whilst heading into the park. Colourful lot complete with chief and don't forget about those jumping warriors. Who needs jet packs?
No they just couldn't wait to get those cameras out, oh, it's just the sign welcoming us into one hell of a national park. Ok you guys you don't line the Range Rovers up like that. We know you like turns at driving backwards, but it takes too long.
Whow! a giraffe with a broken neck! and a Marabou with broken legs. Not a good start, keep going, ah thats better, a Hippo with no bottom half....
More hippos just lazing around, enough of this, lets camp...Sleep....Wow what a breakfast, in the dew of the morning, and there are all the wagons lined up especially for us. Hell, is this all we get to see, a couple of lizards. Yes, note the one jumping away.
Some more wonders of nature well I wouldn't say a Wart hog is but millions of Wilder beast can't be wrong. Well there are millions around when they migrate north. Good old Giraffes, always interesting to look at especially in the wild.
Good, into the real stuff now, lets take a closer look. A real live cheetah in the wild, eying up a couple of Zebra, too big for a cheetah however as is this Rhino.Antelope are more their cup of tea.
To end a great day the vehicle lost its' water. Damaged radiator, never mind not our problem as we head off to stay at a lodge, in a real bed with a real breakfast next day and great views of Ngorogoro Crater. Lets kick it off with a mound of monkeys.
After fantastic sites its a radio call to say Lions over at the lake quick! Oh then quick the elephants are over the other side.
