The Tech Gear we Carry....
2013 - Onward
1. Supertooth Disco Bluetooth speakers
It has a real bi-amplified 4in subwoofer plus two 3inch speakers and it sounds fantastic.See the specs HERE
2. Asus Transformer Epad TF300T with detachable 10inch Tablet, everything a Tablet plus USB, extra Battery docking. See the specs HERE
3. Optoma PK301+ LED Video Projector with my own customised 42 inch screen made from a pull down window blind system - Fantastic as it is like travelling with your own 42inch Plasma but is tiny and portable and awesome with the new speaker system plus using Bluetooth transmitters to avoid cables. See the specs HERE
4.Anker Astro3 Lithium Batteries with 5,9 and 12vdc 2.3 amp total output, so we have two of them.
5.Simultaneus multi voltage Power Pack Supply with worldwide input mains power supplies. Not available so I made my own using 4x small adjustable output voltage adaptors which I have at 6, 9.3, 12 and 14 volt outputs along with the laptop 19volt 6amp power supply, all housed in a ABS case therefore just one input mains cable so it is the ultimate answer whern you only have one night to charge all your devices at once as we have 8 devices that need charging each day or so. We have 10 different battery types to charge.
6. Samsung Galaxy Y Smart Phone is used as a GPS unit using the offline app OSMand mapping which covers the world and is brilliant, also use it to read the Daily Mail sometimes. Buying sim cards is a waste of time because phone companies everywhere are pathetic and there are so many WiFi spots these days.
7. Samson USB GoMic is like a budget studio mic but is USB and is great for singing and speech. It is also good to use with the HD Cam we carry as against the built in Mic. See the specs HERE
8. 7 Day Shop AA & AAA Battery charger which charges via mains, 12vdc & USB with a LCD screen to advise progress. We use these batteries for the Bike lights.
9. GoPro3 Silver Edition Video & Still Camera because the Black Edition was not available when we needed it. It is a waterproof mini helmet and everything full HD Video camera. in widescreen but photos are 4:3 which is a pain and also no LCD screen as standard and the battery life is not too hot and so on so do not believe the movies you see on their site as it's only strength is its smallness and mountability but it is no where as good as our Panasonic camera as below. See the specs HERE
10. Cabling to cover almost every situation to connect to Hotel TV's with HDMI and RCA and Scart. RCA's to 3.5mm female to male and vice versa. Too many too mention but let me know if you want the ultimate travel cable solution. All are available at Cabling4less.co.uk and Amazon.
11. Sistema Klip iT New Zealand desgined and made in New Zealand containers are used to house most of our bits and pieces including Food, Tools, Electronics, Medicines, etc All rectangle but different sizes to fit into the Ortlieb bicycle panniers.
See the PDF Brochure HERE

Out with the Kindle as the screen froze and the small speaker system - too tinney, and the waterproof camera holder - It is a pain to use and I do not trust it.

Out with Book style Lithium battery pack as it stopped working and so did another one.and the Zoom Mic had too much handling noise and not as good as the camera mic.
The large A4 sized solar panels now trickle charge the RV back in the UK as they do not work well enough to charge large bits.
The Bluetooth mouse is a pain and so bought a proper wireless mouse which is geat for an HP product. Forget the Camlink Z1 charger as it is a pain to load the battery.
The Ultimate travel speaker systems with Bi-amp for the Sub-woofer 4inch plus 2x 3inch for L&R
Also has bluetooth & 3.5mm input & charges with 14vdc for 8 hours playback. Awesome! 1kg
Asus Transformer Epad TF300T with Tablet & Keyboard together or seperate. With HDMI out & USB in & 2x Batteries. It is simply the best Tablet out there.
Optoma PK301+ LED Projector for Movies in a Hotel room using either the wall or our 42inch roll up white screen.
It is poscket sized but really effective at 300 lumens. Beats our old 3gun at 60KG
Two Anker Astra3 Lithium Poymer Batteries with 2x USB & 9 & 12vdc output with 10amp hour discharge.
Sumvision Cyclone 3 allows a 1TB HDD to connect with output via HDMI or AV to any TV with inputs plus projector
2011-2012:
Our favourite little gadgets are: The new Kindle 3G with the 1800 Books and the new Laptop with the i7 Processor with the 8GB RAM which means the new 1080P movie camera with the 14mb still camera function built in can have its movies edited with ease in full HD using the Adobe Premiere software.

The Camera makes up for it by being tiny and being able to be used as a still and movie camera with its 14mb stills and full 1080p movie to a card instead of those mini DV tapes that had to be lugged around the world back in the old days - a few years ago. Be careful of the £90 price for each camera battery because at least two are required.
Hopefully the underwater camera bag will not leak when tested but at least it will keep out the dust in the desert.
The book like Lithium Battery can be charged from the Solar Panel with 19vdc input whilst cycling so at the end of the day it can charge the laptop even though we already have two batteries but never enough. The Book Battery can also run the AA/AAA charger and charge the Camera batteries all in the same unit by the way.

It is a bit over the top to be carrying a Laptop but it is so nice to have all the movies and stuff with us including being able to edit the high definition movies being made whilst travelling. It is also nice to have the webcam to use for Skype if and when we have internet access.
The Sumvision Cyclone Mini Media player is great for those odd occasions when we might be in a place with a TV and we can therefore connect the media player directly to the external hard drives of which we have two 1TB 2.5inch Samsungs, one 1TB is full of movies of which most are in HD so we may eventually watch some or all. The book shaped battery can be charged from our solar panel using the 19vdc outlet and then it can output 12v - 22vdc to charge our battery chargers plus the laptop even though we have two laptop batteries already.
Mary said don't forget to mention her Kindle 3G and the toaster we love and click on the tent photo on the left and see our cooker. Click on anything to go to where the items can be purchased.

Pray for sunshine and the Mercury 11 solar panels will run the laptop which in turn will allow us to update the web site (seriously though very little sun is required). The two folders containing 2 panels each, unzip ready to use, and are really strong. The laptop slides down between the two folders and all three items fit into one front pannier. All cables and smart charge adaptors are kept in the opposite pannier along with all spare batteries. With all the equipment and lighting there are a total of 38 batteries of various types. A Saitek Ecco charger is used to charge all AA & AAA Alkaline batteries while the NiMh and Lithiums are charged by dedicated chargers, all of which charge from solar, car or mains.
By the way, we cannot do with out good sound so we have the Sandisk MP3 Players each but the 2.1 system pictured below is pretty cool also.

Laptop 19vdc 6.8 amp plus 6, 9, 12 & 14
Cigar Socket with 5vdc USB adaptors & split 12v for Lithiums & 15v for Asus all in one ABS plastic case with one mains input. So compact. It sure beats all those seperate ones that people carry around.

I tend to look around on the web for the best deals and research what we need but generally always go back to Amazon because it is hassle free and easy to return things and if they do not have what I want then It is so easy find everything anyway.
